Most people have heard of the compounds THC and CBD. CBD products are all over the market, and they’re great. But these aren’t the only compounds to be found in a cannabis plant.

Another less-known compound is CBG. CBG is harder to find because it’s harder to produce, but it can be even more effective than CBD. CBG is particularly helpful in treating anxiety.

Here is an explanation of what CBG is, how it works, and why it can help treat a variety of issues such as anxiety.

1. Purity

CBG comes from young cannabis plants.

The letters are short for cannabigerol. This is a cannabinoid that occurs naturally in the plant known either as cannabis or marijuana.

There are usually traces of CBG in fully developed cannabis strains.

However, most developed strains only have about 1% CBG. This is a very small amount when you think about how much CBD and THC are found. CBD and THC contents are usually somewhere between 15-25%.

CBD and THC start out as CBGA, which is a form of CBG.

As the plant grows, the chemical compounds react with one another, forming CBD and THC. So, you can think of CBG as a baby form of these compounds.

This means that CBG is a purer, unprocessed chemical compound.

2. Trichomes

Trichomes are tiny microscopic hairs found on the cannabis plant.

There is a lot of research going into how trichomes affect cannabis potency.

Much of this research is still undergoing since it occurs at a very microscopic level. However, without trichomes, the cannabis plant wouldn’t have any THC.

Like everything in chemistry, trichomes get very complicated. There are many different types of trichomes, and scientists will probably discover more.

Basically, as the cannabis plant grows, more trichomes will be developed.

Since CBG comes from a younger cannabis plant, it usually contains less trichomes, and thereby less THC. THC can be good if you want to treat anxiety.

THC can help you relax and calm down, but it can be intense. If you haven’t gotten high before, high THC levels could make your body react in an unexpected way.

When you’re new to cannabis, you want to try things that have a higher CBD level. Or you should just go straight to the start and try CBG.

Because CBG doesn’t contain other chemical compounds, it’s easier to process.

3. Natural

Cannabis is a natural product.

As long as you buy your products from a licensed dispensary, you don’t have to worry about anything else being put in your weed.

CBG products undergo less tampering than prescription medication.

CBG is great because it mimics a natural process in the body. The body naturally has compounds known as endocannabinoids. These chemicals react with cannabinoid receptors, which helps to regulate your mood.

When you consume CBG, the CBG binds with your body’s cannabinoid receptors. This is a perfectly natural process that will help regulate your energy and make you feel happy.

4. Calming

The process of consuming CBG calms your body down.

It helps by reducing inflation, particularly in your bowels. People with IBS, or irritable bowel syndrome, should try CBG.

A lot of your emotions are controlled by your stomach. There is a lot of stuff going on in your gut. If your bowels are irritated, you’ll feel anxious.

A good way to consume CBG is by combining it with foods that combat anxiety. A healthy diet is the best way to help your body stay healthy.

If you only eat junk food or unhealthy food, you’re more likely to feel anxious.

5. Safety

There is nothing unsafe about CBG.

In fact, all cannabis products are completely safe.

Even smoking weed is safe so long as you consume it in a good environment. In the short-term, you can get high. But there are no long-term negative side effects.

There are only positive side effects associated with cannabis consumption.

It’s been proven that cannabis can help increase your neurological health as well as your heart health. It can also prevent the onset of diseases like Alzheimer’s.

Since there are no negatives associated with CBG, it can’t hurt to try.

Conclusion

There is still a lot to learn when it comes to cannabis, but science has proven that CBG is safe and healthy.
