There are 4 types of people when it comes to global warming, those who believe we are doomed and even if we stopped all carbon emissions right this very second, the planet will overheat and all life will perish. Then there are those that will tell you it is a global scam to get you to pay carbon taxes; some would call them conspiracy theorists, but to be honest, the tin foil hat brigade has been pretty much on the money. The third group will cite evidence that shows our planet goes through cycles every 15-20,000 years and yes, we are currently in a warming up phase, yet they also believe the global warming is not caused by human activity. The last group know absolutely nothing about climate change and aren’t that interested.
The rise of A/C in Australia
Like it or not, we all need a/c these days; find a supplier, look around, “Is Mitsubishi Better Than Daikin?” Ask the sales staff or do an advanced Google search, but either way, the latest generation of a/c systems use minimal energy and do not pollute the atmosphere. Temperatures are rising, of that there is no doubt, so we do have to focus on clean and renewable energy in the form of solar power. Wind turbines are fine, but they only work when the wind blows and we have more sunshine hours here in Australia than anywhere, so home and business owners need to consider switching to solar panels and with government grants, more property owners are making the switch.

There are many changes you can make to your lifestyle; perhaps the biggest thing you could do is to install a solar energy system in your home and disconnect from the national power grid. A Global Thing
This is not about Australia, every single nation on the planet will be affected by what the future holds, so we all need to do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint. Then there is the question of electric vehicles, some say this is the best way forward and we are ready to stop using oil to generate energy, while others point out that the electricity to recharge EVs is being produced by burning fossil fuels. Perhaps the best way to look at this is, regardless of the reason, our planet is warming up and governments around the world must work together to transform our energy policies; the UN is currently creating policies that will hopefully lead to serious reductions in carbon emissions.
The Australian government has a lot of information on the current climate change crisis and with the right policies in place, we will gradually make the transformation; will it be enough to stop the rising temperatures? Only time will tell.
